Who we are

Dr. W. Paul Goebel is a board-certified Family Medicine physician with a passion for home-based primary care. Over the course of his work in traditional clinic settings, Dr. Goebel recognized a persistent and troubling gap in care for patients unable to attend in-office visits. Whether due to physical limitations, cognitive decline, demanding work schedules, or the responsibilities of caregiving, many patients were left without timely access to the care they needed. Waitlists for house call providers often stretched up to a year — an unacceptable delay for those with pressing health concerns.

Motivated to create a more accessible and compassionate model, Dr. Goebel founded Rose City House Calls to bring personalized, high-quality medical care directly to patients in the comfort of their homes. He believes that meeting patients on their terms — in familiar, safe environments — is one of the most meaningful aspects of medicine.

Our Services

  • Your first visit is all about getting to know you. During this 60–90 minute in-home appointment, we’ll review your medical history, current medications, and health goals. We’ll perform a physical exam, address any immediate concerns, and begin building a personalized care plan tailored to your needs. This is the foundation for a lasting, trusted doctor-patient relationship — delivered right to your doorstep.

  • Follow-up visits are designed to manage ongoing conditions, monitor progress, and adjust your care plan as needed. Whether it’s routine lab work, medication management, or a check-in on a chronic issue, each visit brings care directly to your home with the attention and time you deserve. Most follow-ups last 30–60 minutes, depending on your needs.

  • Not feeling well or have a new concern? Problem-based visits focus on evaluating and treating specific issues like infections, pain, or sudden changes in your health. We’ll come to you, assess the problem, and provide timely, personalized care — whether it’s a prescription, lab testing, or a referral if needed.

  • We provide gentle, dignified support for patients and families facing the final chapter of life. Our end-of-life care focuses on comfort, clarity, and compassion — whether that means managing symptoms, honoring personal wishes, or guiding families through difficult decisions. We work closely with hospice and can assist with options like Oregon’s Death with Dignity Act when requested. You are not alone — we are here to walk with you.
